Crown Down wearproof surgical kit: open stainless steel cassette holding gold-coloured implant drills in blue silicone holders, with the drill-selection chart printed inside the lid

What a crown-down sequence changes

Conventional osteotomy preparation starts with a narrow pilot drill and steps up in diameter, changing instruments at every stage. A crown-down sequence works from the coronal aspect apically instead, which is the workflow this cassette is built around. Whether that suits a given case is a clinical judgement — Periospot has not independently tested this device.

Questions clinicians ask

What is a crown-down drilling protocol?

Crown-down preparation starts wider and coronal and works apically, rather than starting with a narrow pilot drill and stepping up in diameter. It changes the order in which drills are used to prepare the osteotomy.

Can the Crown Down Kit be used for guided surgery?

The manufacturer states the kit can be used guided or freehand, and the cassette includes guide sleeves. Confirm compatibility with your specific guide system and implant line with the manufacturer before clinical use.

What drilling speed is the kit designed for?

The cassette lid is marked for low-speed drilling at a maximum of 200 rpm. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and your implant system's protocol.

How do I get the Periospot discount?

Does Periospot sell or ship the kit?
